The program is funded by a grant from the Carnegie Corporation of New York. The grant is part of its broader Nuclear Security initiative under their International Peace and Security Program.

Drawing from the World Affairs Councils of America's Six Top Issues, the series will focus on the lessons of the Cuban Missile Crisis and the history of the past 50 years of arms control and proliferation. The program coincides with this year's Academic WorldQuest topic: Cuban Missile Crisis: 50th Anniversary.
