Leon Cao is currently a Junior at American University’s School of International Service, focusing on National Security and Foreign Policy in East Asia with a double major in Asian Studies. He is focused on human security and conflict resolution, with a special interest in American foreign policy and Asia. Leon formerly interned with the Association for Diplomatic Studies and Training where he helped record American diplomatic history through interviews, research, and transcription. Before that, he also interned with his state delegate and the nonprofit organization Youth Building Bridges. During these experiences, he conducted research and provided support to event planning. On campus, Leon is also involved as an Under Simulation Director for American University’s annual model UN conference. 

Leon was born in Beijing, China and especially loves learning about history. In the future, he hopes to be able to work in the nonprofit sector and pursue a Master’s degree in International Relations. He is excited to intern at WACA and to further the goal of fostering public engagement in foreign policy.
