Savannah is currently a senior at the University of Arizona studying Political Science and Global Studies. She is spending this semester at American University through the Washington Semester Program. Throughout her educational career, Savannah has developed a passion around human rights and refugee resettlement.
During her college career, Savannah has interned with Congresswoman Anne Kirkpatrick and the International Rescue Committee in Tucson, Arizona. At Congresswoman Kirkpatrick's office, she focused on constituent services and aided in case management to assist members of the district through opening new applications, contacting offices, and communicating with the constituents. She also aided in research and organization for legislation coming through the office. Savannah's experience at the International Rescue Committee was also with case management where she worked with clients to ensure their resettlement needs were being met. Beyond her studies, Savannah enjoys rock climbing, reading, and backpacking with her dog, Finn.
It is Savannah's hope to attend law school in the future, ultimately combining this with her past experience to focus on human rights progression. Her experience working with constituents and refugees has fueled her passion to work with people and to work with others that are passionate about making an impact on the world. She is very excited to spend this upcoming semester with the World Affairs Councils of America and cannot wait to see how this will further her drive and passion in international affairs.
