Mr. Tomassian is an experienced attorney and managing partner of the Southern California law firm of Tomassian, Throckmorton & Inouye LLP. He was named as one of Orange County’s Top Real Estate and Construction Litigation Lawyers by OC Metro Magazine (2009-2014). He is an experienced litigator and trial lawyer who has successfully won several multimillion dollar verdicts and settlements. He is also a Neutral with the American Arbitration Association serving as an effective mediator and arbitrator on large complex civil matters. He has successfully resolved many complex business, real estate, engineering and construction matters. He received the highest legal rating of AV DIRECTORY for both ethics and legal ability given to Lawyers by the MARTINDALE-HUBBELL LAWYER as well as a perfect rating of “10” by AVVO. He has also been repeatedly recognized as a “Super Lawyer” in Southern California (Thompson Reuters) and named repeatedly in Best Lawyers in Southern California.
Mr. Tomassian graduated from the University of Southern California. He was the first member of his family to graduate from College. He graduated from the McGeorge School of Law in 1983. He also earned a Certificate in Comparative Law from his studies at ESSEC, Paris, France. He is a member of the Sigma Chi National Fraternity.
His legal career began in the Los Angeles office of the international law firm of O'Melveny & Myers with assignments on several large complex litigation cases. His current firm Tomassian, Throckmorton & Inouye LLP specializes in construction, real estate, general civil, and business litigation. He has served as an expert legal analyst on OCN News and has been featured and interviewed by a number of State and Los Angeles multi media outlets & publications. He also serves as a guest lecturer at various legal seminars for both attorneys and non-attorneys.
Mr. Tomassian is a member of the State Bar of California, Orange County Bar, and served on the Legislative, Construction and Business Litigation Sections. He was elected and served as a leader on the Board of Directors for the Orange County Bar Association.
His passion for community involvement and world affairs includes serving on the Board of Trustees and leadership as Chairman of the World Affairs Council of Orange County. He has represented the Council on both leadership mission trips and hosted U.S. and foreign leaders, ambassadors and dignitaries for the Council. He was awarded the Golden Orange Award in 2013 for his effective and dedicated leadership and service to the Council and the Orange County Community. He was given the distinction in 2017 as “Ambassador at Large” for the Council. He is currently on the Executive Board and the Board of Directors of the National Organization of the World Affairs Councils of America (WACA) based in Washington DC. He is also a supporting member (1918 Society) for the National Council. He is active with several Orange County political and professional organizations including Representative Ed Royce’s Congressional Club and the UCI Armenian Studies Program. He has spoken to both university and church groups on issues of faith, human rights, and international law.
Serge was born in Marseille, France and raised in California. He is fluent in French and has been married to Monalisa for nearly 25 years. They have two children Paris - 20 and Blaise - 15. He regularly trains, earning a Black Belt in Martial Arts (Tae Kwon Do 3rd degree). He enjoys studying world affairs, snow skiing, travelling, sports, and reading.
