The World Affairs Council of New Jersey is a New Jersey based nonprofit delivering independent, informative, and thought-provoking programs on global affairs. Their goal is to strengthen public dialogue on global affairs in the state by expanding access to world-class experts, making connections between events abroad and local communities, building capacity for community education, and fostering exchanges with international visitors. They stage independent, informative, and thought-provoking programs across NJ communities using a variety of engaging formats: keynote speaker events, participatory town halls, moderated small-group discussions, school-focused activities, professional networking opportunities, and online tools and resources, among others. It is not their goal to achieve political or intellectual consensus on a set of prescribed policy issues, but rather to foster an engaged and informed citizenry - the most fundamental step to ensuring a positive future for our democracy in a globalizing world.
