When the World Food Program was awarded this year’s Nobel Peace Prize, executive director David Beasley warned that “famine is at humanity’s doorstep.” Hunger is not new, but the coronavirus pandemic and global recession have thrown millions of people into poverty and food insecurity. The good news is that we have the power to prevent famine because there is enough food to feed everyone on Earth. This week we’re looking at how to solve food insecurity around the world. We’ll hear from nonprofit leaders working on the frontlines and a doctor in Yemen who treats malnourished children.
