Engage America  Series

The WACA National Office partners with think tanks, foundations, NGOs, corporations, and occasionally government agencies to arrange timely "national conversations" at several World Affairs Councils across the country on critical international topics.

The Alliance Working in America (Japan) (Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA)

Presented by Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA

The U.S.-Japan alliance plays a vital role in the Asia-Pacific region to defend the interests and values of the United States and its allies. The alliance has also served as the foundation to strengthen other areas of the U.S.-Japan relationship, including economic, trade, people-to-people, and cultural ties. Engaging the Washington, D.C. community alone, however, is not enough to ensure strong American support for U.S.-Japan relations. We want to promote a better understanding of U.S.-Japan relations across the United States.

The World Affairs Councils of America (WACA) and The Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA (SPFUSA) are dedicated to engaging the public and leading global voices to better understand the world, America’s international role, and the policy choices that impact our lives. “The Alliance Working in America” program, which targets certain audiences within the United States who are interested in world affairs but may not focus on U.S.-Japan relations specifically, seeks to achieve this goal.
