An unprecedented gift from Carlos Alvarez, a San Antonio businessman and philanthropist who served many years on the WACA National Board of Directors and Advisory Council, and his wife Malú, accelerated a fundraising initiative to create an endowment fund for WACA’s Academic WorldQuest™ National High School Competition.

Having surpassed $1 million in funds raised, our goal is to continue to grow the AWQ Endowment in order to sustain the annual National Competition in perpetuity and enable WACA to enhance services and support for educational programs that are provided by more than 90 local nonprofit World Affairs Councils nationwide.

Please consider making a contribution to the Academic WorldQuest Endowment Fund. You may use this page to donate, or contact Matthew Hughes, President & CEO of the World Affairs Councils of America, by phone at 202-833-4557 or by email.
