Global Santa Fe

The Council Leadership Meeting opened with a welcome reception and a town hall conversation on U.S. foreign policy featuring the Council of Foreign Relations Senior Fellow James M. Lindsay, alongside a special address from Ambassador Esteban Moctezuma Barragán, Mexico’s Ambassador to the United States. Sessions throughout the meeting addressed core challenges facing Councils today, including a fundraising town hall, leadership myths and lessons, community engagement, and a talk on food justice and food security with Robert Egger, founder of DC Central Kitchen.

Attendees enjoyed a cooking class at the Santa Fe School of Cooking, exploring the history and flavors of New Mexican cuisine, and a shuttle visit to Museum Hill for a private screening of the documentary First We Bombed New Mexico. The Council Leaders reflected, problem-solved, exchanged fresh ideas and expanded networks with colleagues from across the country.
